The result of extensive research by PelGar, Vertox Oktablok II brings to the market a highly palatable formulation suitable for use in all climatic conditions. Vertox Oktablok II is a ready-for-use bait formulated using high quality culinary grade wheat flour, blended with chopped wheat, other cereals and proteins which are bound together by edible waxes.

The addition of other food grade materials improves palatability compared to other extruded or cast blocks ensuring excellent bait ‘take’. The incorporation of bio-stats inhibits the growth of both fungi and bacteria should the block be exposed to damp/sewer conditions. Vertox Oktablok II also contains an aroma, giving a unique chocolatey smell.

Vertox Oktablok II is manufactured by a hot casting process ensuring the wax and other components are intimately mixed together. This process ensures blocks are highly tolerant to humidity and suitable for use in and around buildings and sewers. The blocks have a hole through the centre that allows them to be securely fixed in a bait station.

Description

PelGar produces a range of high quality, palatable formulations based on the active ingredients difenacoum, bromadiolone and brodifacoum; the most widely used anticoagulants in rodenticides. Each active has a different level of toxicity to mice and rats as shown in the table below. All PelGar rodenticides include a dye colour for visual identification as a toxin and the bittering agent denatonium benzoate.

Extreme caution needs to be taken when using rodenticides to ensure that non-target species such as pets, livestock, birds and children do not come in contact with the poison. Therefore is important that rodent baits are always secured and protected, ideally in a bait station, and once you have controlled the problem all toxic baits need to be removed from the area. In any case of suspected poisoning consult a doctor or veterinarian.

For example, a 25 gram mouse only needs to consume 0.4 grams of finished difenacoum rodenticide to ingest a lethal dose. The figures for dogs are provided only as an indication of the relative toxicity to non-target animals.

Vertox Oktablok II blocks have a nominal weight of 20g.
